Having been built for a French couple planning a circumnavigation, AmzerZo sailed around the world. She set off from Brittany in 1997 and finished her voyage in Malta, where her owners sold her in 2002. The book Un tour du monde à la voile comme on en rêve sur Amzer Zo details their adventures. Her second and third owners cruised aboard her in the Tyrrhenian, the Adriatic, the Ionian and the Aegean.

She was in the Ionian when her current owners purchased her in 2017. Since then, they have sailed in the Mediterranean, across the Bay of Biscay, the Irish Sea, the North Sea, the Norwegian Sea, across the Atlantic, the Caribbean, to the mouth of the Bay of Fundy, through the Panama Canal, to French Polynesia, and Hawai'i. Their time in arctic Norway inspired current preparations to sail the higher latitudes of the Pacific.


Perspective

It's about the Milky Way both below and above, meteorites lighting up the night sky, the green flash on the horizon, dolphins at the bow, whales in the distance. It's about squeezing the last minutes before sunset out of the spinnaker, perfectly balancing the sailing machine and enjoying the ride, pretending to be in the Ocean Race to keep your wits about you in a gale, making landfall on wild, uninhabited islands and gatherings on the beach with new friends. It's about not knowing what each new day will bring. It's about managing resources and being self-sufficient. It's about constantly evolving, learning and changing. Respecting. Becoming a local in new places. Giving back. Exploring and protecting this beautiful blue ball. Coming to believe anything is possible.
