Refits | About |
December 2021 The make-over continues. December 2 The head (bathroom) is gone! We can't wait to get a shower stall. December 10 This is what it looks like underneath. We're getting a washing machine! But will it fit? December 16 We're extending the bow sprit to avoid chafe when we fly the light air sails. The washer install is moving along. The next day... It fits! The washer will be painted to resemble the cherry wood. December 23 The primer is on. Almost ready for painting. The head is back in. The sea water intake for the head has been welded shut. We'll use a spare one in the engine room that used to be for the old watermaker. That should take care of our toilet disasters while underway. April 2022 April 2 The bowsprit extension and newly opened pulpit looks great. We're looking forward to flying The Beast without worrying about chafe. April 5 We have a flake floor! The new anchor locker wood looks great. April 18, 2022 The toilet is in. Next up is the sink. April 22, 2022 The new cushions look fantastic. The pole was covered with leather. We can't wait to use the Daewoo Mini. (And remove her protective plastic film.) The sink is "half inbouw" to maximize the space available. The plexi shower doors fold in behind the door. Two small (but strong) round magnets ensure the doors stay open during showering. Here, you can see the one farthest aft. The finishing touches Many thanks to the team at KM. We've done four refits on two boats in three different countries, and the best experience has been with KM. They understand the stress put on ocean-going yachts, their team consistently came up with ingenious solutions, and it's clear that everything they do revolves around ensuring that the customer is happy.
